After researching the new disease, the eight heroes are thrust upon a much greater adventure and must find the orbs of power to quell the evil.

Starbrood is set in a trinary meta-star system. Three super-massive stars with nearly a dozen more normal-sized star systems in orbit of them. Most of which are inhabited by one or more fantasy races with which you'll be familiar along with some new ones. There are no gods or magic here, but there is faster-than-light travel and other futuristic technologies.
This story follows in the footsteps of Sidian Rein who is a Terran courier just looking to make a name for himself. Sidian stumbles upon a mystery that involves the livelihood of the entire universe.

It's necessary for both of these stories to be written in tandem as they cross paths several times.
After losing his well-regarded tenure at Verkeley, Dr. Pherringer began work on his late father's quantum theories, trying to prove that a sub-layer of space exists as his father had theorized.
His first experiment fails catastrophically, though it does lend him a clue. A clue that opens up a door that he did not expect.
