| | | Dealing with Challenging Learners The Challenging Learner programs contain four Modules (Workbooks and Skills Labs):
1.Introduction to the Challenging Learner
2.Getting Silent Learners to Respond
3. Channeling Difficult Learners' Energies and Emotions
4. Dealing with Special Learners
Interactive instructors, like all teachers, frequently discover difficult and challenging students in their classes. Instructors often ask:
"What if students are disruptive?"
"What about students who always arrive late?"
"What if the same person is always first to answer my questions?"
"What if my class gets out of control?"
"What if I’m making a presentation and two students start to talk to each other?"
"What do I do when I ask a question and nobody answers?"
During ESF’s Challenging Learners workshop, you will learn how to:

*Prepare and Conduct Demonstrations
*Prepare and Conduct Case Studies
*Prepare and Conduct Role Plays
Design Skills Labs enables you to:
* Prepare general guidelines for the demonstration, case study, or role play skills lab
— Prepare for a team task, if necessary
— Estimate the skills lab time
* Prepare and conduct Demonstrations (People-to-Machine tasks) skills lab
— Complete all the preparations which your learners will need to conduct a successful demonstrations
— Prepare the skills lab equipment and show it to your learners
— Explain the demonstration to your learners.
— Emphasize cautions and time-dependent operations
— Review any knowledge skills ne | | | | IDLS: Design, Develop, Validate Instructional Materials The IDLS materials contain four Modules (Workbooks and Skills Labs):
* Task Analysis
* Performance Measures
* Developing Interactive Instructional Materials
* Validation
Using the IDLS Materials, you will learn a process that will enable you to perform tasks related to each step of the IDLS process. Use job-related documentation, interaction with Subject Matter Experts, and observing how the job is performed to:
1. Design a customized Task Analysis
1.1 Use ESF's user-friendly software, TaskOutliner, to develop a Job Task Analysis to identify what the learner needs to know and perform on the job.
2. Use the Job Task Analysis to develop Performance Measures.
2.1 Develop Inventory Questions (Pre Inventory, Progress Review, and Post Inventory) | | | | Interactive Teaching Skills "Interactive Teaching Skills" materials contain three Modules (Workbooks and Skills Labs):
1. Use Interactive Presentation Techniques
2. Use Media Interactively
3. Use Interactive Skills Labs.
ITS is a competency-based program that enables the participant to use interactive instructional techniques.
Participant will learn how to:
1. Set up an interactive classroom
2. Present yourself as approachable
3. Leave your personal problems at the door
2. Invite learners to be interactive
3. Anticipate learners’ needs
4. Put learners at ease
5. Use interactive presentation techniques
6. Use media interactively
7. Use skills labs interactively
| | | | Training Needs Analysis Training Needs Analysis materials contain five Modules (Workbooks and Skills Labs):
1. Training Needs Analysis Process: An Overview
2. Symptoms, Causes, and Solutions
3. Collecting Information From Individuals
4. Identify the Costs and Benefits of Various Solutions
5. Contracting with Client to Conduct a TNA
Training Needs Analysis enables you to learn the interrelationship of performance problems, symptoms, causes, solutions, and how to conduct a cost/benefit analysis to provide the proper solution. You will learn that:
1. A performance problem refers to the inability of an employee to perform an assigned job task. Performance is defined as the successful accomplishment of an assigned job task. Problem is defined as the discrepancy between the desired results and the actual outcome. For example, information is missing from a travel expense report; wrong information is included in a written r |
