| | | My Pop Bottle Family Every Saturday and Sunday morning after Sunday School,
Mary and her three sisters and two brothers pack in
like sardines in their 1970’s Ford LTD and drive to a nearby
road off the highway, park the car and start “treasure hunting” for pop
bottles, by the end of a long hard day enough pop bottles can
help pay for the groceries.
Living a poor life in a 1970’s neighborhood is one thing, but
being completely humiliated by picking up pop bottles on the
side of the road where friends can see Mary and her family
is another matter. When Dad falls ill and is no longer
able to work, things in the family take a turn for the worse and
Mary learns the value of honor, family and sacrifice.
