Calling upon her memories and feelings of past and present relationships, her career, and her family and friends, the author uses these to enhance her writing and develop verse.
There are deep emotional attachments to most of the verses which relive the times in the author’s life at which the feelings were experienced but there are also some light-hearted poems which are intended to create questions in the mind of the reader and encourage us all to revisit our pasts.
Here also are the lessons learnt by many of us and of those of us young enough to not have experienced deep emotional rigors of life, there are lessons to be learnt. One thing guaranteed within this book: there is a verse for all of us from the young to the old.

This is a story of one woman’s fight to overcome an abusive marriage and realise her country life dream. She hopes to utilise her Media Studies degree to find work and rebuild her life as a single woman. She is offered work involving local travel from a former employer and is overjoyed. She then takes the big step of initiating her divorce, but a surprise visit from her ex-husband almost puts an end to her life. Left in its wake are some tragic moments. As she feels her life ebbing away, she sees images of her loving family looking down on her, but she just can’t make them understand what is happening to her. The story follows Julie-Anne through her marriage, new life, dreadful physical and emotional abuse, and the worst kind of deceit, as well as a court case and an unanticipated ending.
