Valerie lost her mother to cancer when she was only seven years old. Now, having just graduated from high school, she finds herself returning to her mother's childhood home, searching for something. While there her aunt finds and gives her her mother's diary and Valerie meets Jeremy-- a person who will change Valerie's life forever. I sprang to my feet, feeling almost as if my mother’s diary was a snake and it was going to bite me. I piled the two boxes together and bolted for the familiar safety of my room.
