I downloaded the BC Forestry terms from the Forest Ministry's web site and altered the descriptions slightly and drew 110 cartoons with a mouse to make it fun.
I thought it would appeal to environmentalists but I have sold more copies to forestry workers. Go figure!

In 1956 the Canadian government declared the Arrow Lakes Indian Band extinct. There was only one problem – they were still alive. But the government was about to begin negotiations with the USA for the Columbia River Treaty that would dam the Columbia and create a reservoir stretching from Castlegar in the south to Revelstoke in the north. This two hundred mile long lake would eventually wipe out all archaeological traces of a culture that had endured for over five thousand years.

Our world is full of wonder and beauty, so why is humanity living in fear? Why are we out of step with the dance of Creation? Why do we live with terrorism and environmental destruction? Why can we find so little inner peace?
We find our selves in a time when we are just beginning to understand ourselves and are on the verge of destroying all life. It is a paradox beyond our normal way of understanding. The time has come for a new perspective, to become as children again and rediscover who we are.
The outcome of the next few decades may very well decide the fate of life on Earth. This is an opportunity to reassess our actions and beliefs, to exercise our responsibility and to empower ourselves for the flight back to reality and freedom.
This book is only my opinion. I claim no handle on the Truth. The old views, long held to be sacred, no longer serve us and have brought us to this place in our story. The time has come to write a new chapter that is more life-affirming - more in keeping with our true nature. We can no longer let others write it for us!
