Elci North is the pen name of an author who usually writes in a vastly different genre.
The idea for The Auction was born on a lazy Sunday morning. My family was lounging in the family room drinking coffee when the conversation turned to undesirable inherited traits. It continued until my middle child quipped, “Where did you guys get me—the baby auction? I’m perfect.” The second he said “baby auction,” my eyes widened and a full plot began spinning in my head.
I originally planned to publish The Auction under my real name, but the character Angelica began speaking in my head, using unsavory language. Nothing upsets my mother more than the F-word, if she knew I used curse word | |  | | The Auction
