I trained at Winchester School of Art  and gained a BAhons fine art degree ( Sculpture). From here i went onto my first job teaching some naughty men how to express themselves in painting and sculpture in the UK Prison service. After four years my husband and I, along with our two dogs and old cat packed our life into a rather small van and travelled across the English Channel to France, on through to Spain and then through the straights of Gibralter and along the west coast of Morroco and Northern africa until finally after two weeks we arrived in Tenerife in the Canary Isles which are some 120 miles to the west of Africa on a line between Cairo and Miami. Here I took a job as an art teacher in a small school teaching young children from the age of 4 to 11. until the birth of my first son Joseph in 1997. This coincided with the death of my beautiful little Jack Russell, Arthur which prompted me to write a fantasy childrens book about his travels across the frozen wastes of Icytopia and unrelenting seas to England. If i had to name the major litery influence of my life( there are so many) i would have to say without doubt the great Roal Dahl, the most wonderfull childrens ( and in my opinion adults) author ever.
