In the process of being a stay at home homeschooling mom, I learned as much as my children. So, I wrote a book to answer people’s questions about homeschooling. And because I am somewhat impatient, I started my own publishing company and published Learning At Home: A Mother's Guide To Homeschooling myself. In the fall of 2005, my homeschooling book was translated into Indonesian and 2000 copies were printed! The third edition - Newly Revised Edition of Learning At Home - is now available! Readers write to tell me how much they enjoy my book. I've spoken at various homeschooling conferences as a result of my book and presented workshops about education in various places in North America. I recorded some of the songs we used to sing together when my children were younger Brighten the Day – songs to celebrate the seasons. The songs celebrate the natural world and the delights of being outside. I volunteered for many years with La Leche League. This gave me the opportunity to use my knowledge of babies and breastfeeding to help other women. It also provided me with many opportunities to increase my skills as a writer and speaker. I’m an Internationally Certified Infant Massage Instructor and teach ongoing infant massage classes in Victoria. I developed a program from my infant massage classes to encourage new parents to sing and play with their babies. I run that program locally and teach the program to others through workshops both locally and throughout North America. I’d love to be invited to speak or lead a parent and child workshop in your community wherever it is. I enjoy presenting my ideas and thoughts about education and the importance of the mother-baby bond in person at conferences, workshops and other venues.
