That love of the written word blossomed into a stream of creative possibilities, including journalism, short story writing, composing poetry, creating family folktales, and facilitating the writing process for others. Inspiring writers include Charles Dickens, Joyce Carol Oates, Alice Hoffman, John Steinbeck, Louise Erdich, ee cummings, Pablo Neruda, and Pat Conroy.        

She earned her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Creative Writing and Anthropological Linguistics/Folklore from Sonoma State University in California.
Writing credits include nomination for the Pushcart Prize (2006) and awards from Farmhouse Magazine, National League of American Pen Women, California Writers Association, and others.
Folkloric interests include research on Scarecrows as Folk Art which was presented to the California Folklore Society and appeared in San Francisco Magazine.
Non-fiction has appeared in The San Francisco Chronicle, North Bay Biz Journal, Australian Trade Community Journal, Marin Independent Journal, Sonoma Style, and Verde.
Fiction and poetry have been published in a variety of magazines and anthologies, including Farmhouse Magazine, Zahir Tales, A Stone’s Throw, Vega, By Moonlight, and more.
