I am a reader and a writer.  I began writing when I couldn't find the exact book I wanted to read in the library when I was twelve.  Reading is often overlooked as a tool to a writer.  I don't believe someone can be a good writer unless they are a good reader first, and I don't believe everyone writes the same way, just as people don't all like the same books.  We are unique, so that will show up in our reading preferences and our writing styles.  What works for one writer may not work for another.  Therefore, it's crucial to discover your own writing style. I am finally finding mine.  After dabbling in fantasy and YA suspense, I found my true passion:  romance.  Once I began writing romance, it's been nothing but playtime ever since.  When you are passionate about what you're doing, it's a driving force in your life that you have to do.  It also opens up doors to a world of excitement and you do better because you are not working, you are having fun.  Yes, I have a lot of fun in my life now.  Not that I didn't before, but it's different now.  No matter how tough things get, I have something that is my own that motivates me to do the best I can.  I'm not saying I've perfected writing.  Writing is one of those things that you keep improving.  I write historical romances, romantic comedies, and romantic fantasies.
