Cheryl Zemke was inspired by the love of nature. Beginning at a young age, she camped with her parents and older sibling, at a nearby state park. This was the very same park that inspired her to write Defenders of Naturion.        While sketching with her son, they began to create characters out of what they saw in nature and soon the story of Naturion was formed. It was an intense labor of love and enjoyment. This story is one that raises ones curiosity as you are introduced to new characters and new creatures. You become intrigued with the relationships and the beauty of nature.        This is the first book for Cheryl. However, she has been drawing and been in creative careers all of her life. She allowed her passion for art to expand into this book and was amazed at how it grew into more than a novel, the words seemed to come alive. The characters took on a personality of their own. She hope to expand the book into a series.
