Information
I am a retired software engineer. In 1985 I created the computer game "Facing the Empire". I found that I enjoyed writing the short story that introduced the game more than I enjoyed creating the game.
I love the classic science fiction writers such as Asimov, Heinlein, and Niven. My favorite quote comes from Asimov’s "Foundation Trilogy". Hari Seldon said, "Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent." That just made sense to me. Niven's Kazin were the best aliens ever.
My stories are dialogue driven. I would rather have the characters to describe what is going on though I understand that narrative is needed at times. I try to ask the questions a reader would ask about a character and about the logic of the plot. In doing this I hope to provide characters with depth and a plot that remains consistent.
