Information
I was born to a poor single woman in 1949 Louisiana. I lived with various family members until just prior to my thirteenth birthday when myself and my younger brother were placed in foster care.This caused great anguish to my mother who by that time had been declared mentally incompetent and had been institutionalized. It was devastating to her two children.My book, 1navywoman, describes these horrible years, then goes on to tell how joining the U.S. Navy I built a new life for myself. This is not a feel good book but it is one of overcoming unimaginable obsticles by faith and grace.
