Having degrees in Psychology, Anthropology and Sociology, G. Larry Butler uses his training, as well as his acute powers of observation, to write disturbing accounts about peculiar people, politics and philosophy he has encountered during his lifetime. His entire life is dedicated to the premise that there are no absolute truths, which is, of course the absolute truth. In his spare time, he turns over old rotten logs and stirs up what he finds with a stick. As a teacher of English Literature, Political Science and World Culture, Mr. Butler uses the same stick to motivate his students to divulge their diverse and sometitmes perverse perspectives, spewing forth madness of every stripe. Winning a poetry award in 1986 for his poem HERE LIES MADNESS, which was presented to him by the legendary king of horror--Vincent Price, Larry has since gone on to do many horror films himself, perhaps inspired by that memorable encounter. His major influences are many...but any writer who can make him laugh, cry, sick, scared and think deserves mention. Namely Ray Bradbury, Frank McCourt, and Timothy Leary (all of whom he knows, or knew, personally) as well as every major writer in the library. Larry devoured books most of his life from the age of 3. James Clavell was a major influence as well. Anybody who entertains as well as educates is on the short list of influences, and all genres are appreciated. Allister Crowley is an intriguing read. In addition to his literary pursuits he has added some tinsel of his own to Tinsel Town as an actor of some merit, gracing the set of over fifty movies and television programs to date. He is internationally known for his role as Al Purplewood in the cult classic, THE DOUBLE D AVENGER and Dr. Monroe Lazarof in the homage to 1930's monster films, FRANKENSTEIN VS THE CREATURE FROM BLOOD COVE (awarded Best Horror Feature Film in 2006). He also hosted a talk show for undiscovered talent called UNDERGROUND HOLLYWOOD (shot in an actual cave) on both television and radio. Larry plays the piano and organ professionally, and if pressured will pick up the sax. A firm believer in living life to the fullest, he has traveled extensively to remote parts of the globe. Due to his love of the unknown, he conjures up new adventures to test himself on a continuous basis. He is a pioneer in almost every asspect of exploration, oftentimes at the forefront of a totally new experience: skydiving, scuba, skiing (cliff jumping), mt. climbing, hang glyding, martial arts are but a few...
