Yakubu Hassan Habi is the first substantive Registrar of the University of Abuja up till his retirement in August 2000. He is currently a University Administration Consultant and Director of Liaison Services, based in Abuja, Nigeria.

He attended School of Basic Studies, Zaria in 1972 and then on to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he obtained a B.Sc degree in Political Science in 1976 and Post-graduate Diploma in Education in 1980
