I'm a writer, artist, designer and musician, but not all at the same time. I live in Kent, UK.

Background Information

I was brought up in Devon and Somerset, counties in the West of England steeped in myth and magic. I have been writing fiction ever since I could hold a pen without throwing it across the room to see what noise it would make. Early fiction seemed to consist of Chapter One of a novel. These attempts were slightly hampered by unimaginative teachers who insisted that telling a murder story from the point of view of the dead man wasn't possible. 'Dead men can't talk', they'd say. 'Have you seen the Prime Minister lately?' I'd ask. Still, I carried on writing, and then defected to comic strips for a while. I lettered other people's work, and had a minor success with a monthly comic strip in a Naturist magazine, but it got too cold working in those conditions, so I moved back to fiction minus the pictures. My influences are not with particular authors, although I did try and be funny in a Douglas Adams-like way, which ended on a Thursday (I never could get the hang of Thursdays). Instead, I am influenced by subject matter and dreams. The effects of time travel interest me greatly, as do ancient myths. I rarely remember my dreams, though, so that influence is pretty much a dead end. As is this part of my biography.

Accomplishments

My screenplay for a short film entitled 'Noon of the Solstice' won a highly commended certificate from the International Fantasy and Science Fiction Film festival.
