My first book, My Name is Fulcna, has just been released!  It's currently available online at Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com, and hopefully it'll be spreading soon.  I am very happy that I got this book, first in its series, written and published, given that I began it in 2006 when I was twelve.  Three years later, I am now working on the marketing for my book, and it is extremely exciting to see my baby (What?  It is!) released. I've always loved reading about historical times and wondering about the people who lived then.  Fulcna is the result of a glimpse of an idea I had while reading my History/Geography book in grade 7 and learning a bit about the ancient Roman empire.  I saw her there and knew that I had to write her story - I just had to find it first. Over the course of three years, I wrote two versions of the now-finished product, My Name is Fulcna, and read just about every book on ancient Rome that is in my library.  Had I known when I began Fulcna (as I call my book) that it would be over three years before I finally finished it, I think I would have given up then and there.  However, as it was, I stuck it out and I've learned so much about my characters, my setting, and myself through the writing of it. My major influences have been my love of books and writing and my faith in Christ.  I love to write.  If I didn't have any way to get my ideas on paper, I don't know what I'd do.  And my faith in Christ is becoming more and more important to me as time goes by and new challenges arise.  These influences have woven their way into My Name is Fulcna and, I hope, have made it a stronger book with more realistic emotions throughout. My recent diagnosis with Type 1 diabetes made me all the more determined to make a difference somehow in the world, and my book was accepted for publication just weeks after I was diagnosed.  I believe I can understand Fulcna's losses better, even though she has no physical problems, just through the knowledge that others cannot understand either of us fully.

I have won a first place and 2 hightly commendeds in writing competitions in the past 12 months, and have this book published.
