Mary Verdick was born in the bewitching city of Charleston, SC and grew up in Evergreen, Colorado, a little mountain town outside of Dennver. She now lives in Middletown, Connecticut, a mid-size city on the coast near her son and grandchildren. She was educated at the University of Colorado and Southern Connecticut State University. She taught school for several years and was an editor at Weekly Reader until she resigned to write novels full time. In the last few years she had published four novels and has another one ready to go. An eclectic reader she likes everyone from Nicholas Sparks, P. D. James, and Pat Conroy to name a few, and also enjoys reading history and biographies. She loves movies and live theater and plays a lot of bridge. She also does volunteer work at Hospice and Literacy Volunteers.
