I  was born in the Black Country, in the industrial Midlands of England, like my parents and grandparents before me, and I still have many friends and relatives there.  I have always written, but in my youth it was mainly articles and short stories, to fit in with earning a living. I had a successful business career, mainly in Personnel management (called Human Resources these days) but eventually I decided to take early retirement and concentrate on writing fiction .My first published novel was 'The Chainmakers', which paid homage to my roots in the Black Country. Next was ‘Strands of Gold’, a fast paced adventure novel set in colonial Singapore and the Australian outback. Both of these books are set at the turn of the century, (about 1890- 1920). Last month I published 'Memories of the Curlew', my first jaunt into medaeval times. It is a fictionalised life of the 12th century Welsh warrior princess Gwenllian, and I am delighted with the reaction so far. At the moment I am working on a novel set in the second world war. It is a love story set against the background of occupied Rome .I have always loved history, and  find the research fascinating, (so much so I have trouble tearing myself away and actually getting down to the writing!)
