I started writing to deal with my grief after my husband died suddenly of cancer.  I had gone on for months, from day to day in a fog of lonliness and then anger to be left in this situation. One day I saw a show of Oprah's about journeling.  She said buy a writing tablet, a pen and sit down every day and write. Just write. Write how your sadness feels. Why you are angry. Get those feelings out. Well, I did and I filled a stack of yellow legal tablets with my woes.Then I started to venture into poetry, took a stab at short stories and bravely joined a writing class. That was over a decade ago and now writing has become a daily part of my life.
