i'm currently a English and PWR Major at Suny Cortland. When i first started writing about 31/2 years ago the poet that influeneced me the most was A.E. Housman. As with most starting poets the reason why I started was that I needed some way to blow of steam and leet the world know how miserable i really was. After about a year of writing and being involved with the Writers Guild(a college writing club), I began to find my voice and particular style of writing. 2 1/2 years later, my writing has greatly improved and I'm always continually growing as a writer. in fact just this weekend i wrote an experimental piece while i was at Racquette Lake with the CWA (Cortland Writters Assocation). Eagle Scout, poetry is currently being displayed on the Cortland Art Trails. I've also been published in Cortland State Weekly paper, as well as being published in yearly magazine that the Writers Guild at TC3 puts out.
