Peter's first book, A Pig in the Roses, is a mystery set in ancient Greece. In it the merchant Diokles finds his family in danger as one of them is accused of murder. To prove the charge false, Diokles has to do his family duty and speak for the defence in court - but when the trial is over, the danger really begins. Shorter fiction includes an adventure set during the Trojan War (The Painter of Lemnos) and a collection of short stories set in Anglo-Saxon England (Ulf of Leystoke). Some very short fiction, a mixture of the light and the more serious, has been collected as Voices from the Past.
