Karen Perry  often visited her grandparents who lived on a farm in east Texas.  Her  grandmother would tell her stories about her life growing up and how hard it was to make a living in the "old days."  Out of this grew Karen's love and interest in her roots and the history that formed Texas. Karen has been a Licenced Professional Counselor in private practice for the past 25 years. She has worked with children all of her career. Casey Wise, has a master's degree in Education.  She has lived in Houston, Texas since 1978 where she has taught school and served as a principal.  In 2005 she retired and started writing children's books which she loves to do. R..J.Lewis was born when his father was 65 years old.  His father had a great influence on his love of history. He has continued to learn and enjoy studing about Texas history.  He lives in Houston with his wife and owns an art and design company, Pristine Graphics.  He previously illustrated children's books such as The Ballerina with Webbed Feet and I Could Catch A Whale.
