Information
While enjoying a long career in higher education, I heard a fascinating tale of a mentally challenged, young Civil War soldier from Maine. I was so moved by this unique story that I knew at once I would write my first novel, Billy Boy, The Sunday Soldier of the 17th Maine.
And so began a late in life journey to write. Ironically, I rediscovered a passion that I had not followed since childhood.
Growing intrigued with the idea of shedding light on the hidden histories of a person or event, I found another story in the life of FDR--his childhood friendship with a Passamaquoddy Elder, which became a children's picture book, Remember Me, Tomah Joseph's Gift to Franklin Roosevelt.
