I grew up in Scotland in the fifties and sixties. It wasn't a fun childhood - I asked far too many questions and people were always trying to shut me up. (They still are, but not too successfully). I came out as a lesbian and a feminist in England, got involved in some underground political actions to undermine the patriarchy, and left the country for fairer lands - northern California, to be exact. I lived in the boonies of California for twenty years, ran an organic market garden, raised free range hogs, built my own house out of recycled lumber, and so on.  Around the year 2000, I got very disillusioned with the life I was living, and had a few extraordinary experiences that led me to believe there was a very different way to be in the world. So I sold my house, gave away most of my belongings and took off traveling. I still live a nomadic lifestyle. I'm addicted to kitesurfing so I usually follow the wind. I write because I have to - the words crowd up in my head and keep me awake. Sometimes I have no idea what will come out when I sit down to write. I tend to be obsessed with the concept of truth so I mostly write nonfiction. I've written about subjects as varied as lesbianism, orgasm, shamanism, and travel. People say my writing is full of soul. I think it reflects my awareness of the vastness of being.   

I've had several books published: THE STRAIGHT WOMAN'S GUIDE TO LESBIANISM; WHEN THE EARTH MOVES: WOMEN AND ORGASM; WITH THE SUN IN MY EYES, the true story of Maria Raindancer, shamanic practitioner and psychic healer; and MY SWEET WILD DANCE. The latter has been awarded a Golden Crown Literary Award. One reviewer described it as "soul refreshment of the highest order."
