Reading and writing are two of Lisa's passions.  She is fascinated with words and the spaces in between.  She originally trained as a classical musician playing with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and other orchestras here and overseas, so her writing often reflects a muscial and rhythmical approach.  In Lisa's debut novel, Milk Fever, the main character, Julia, begins to hear a strange note whenever the dairy farmer, Tom, is around.  Both the theme of music, and the exploration of the mysterious forces that connect us to each other, are carried throughout the novel. Milk Fever explores our fragility, our flaws, and ulitmately, our light. Her favourite writer is Rose Tremain, who casts a unique magic in her books without resorting to cliches.  Also Tim Winton - as fine an Aussie writer as ever lived.  There are just so many wonderful authors and so many  brilliant books to read and not enough time....  Sigh.

First chapter won a prize in the Herald Sun short story competition. An early draft won a mentorship with Clare Forster through the Victorian Writers'Centre.
