Liam James Leaven was born the son of a midwestern crop duster. Yes, that's right: a Midwestern crop duster. From this unlikely point of departure, he achieved two B.A.'s, one in English and one in French, as well as an M.A. in French Studies. He has held several editorial and writing positions, spent a year abroad in France under a graduate research fellowship, and has written for encyclopedias and scholarly journals, in addition to his many creative ventures.
