Many of my stories were inspired by life experiences. That was certainly the case with That Baby Woke Me Up, AGAIN!  and That Mama is a Grouch. Others, like Bubba and Squirt's Big Dig to China and Bubba and Squirt's Mayan Adventure, were inspired by my own travels around the world. I enjoy learning about other cultures and wanted to create stories for children that are not only entertaining, but are educational as well. In addition to being a children's author, I am a professional musician who plays and teaches violin, viola, and piano. When I'm not writing or engaged in musical activities, I can be found doing household chores, hiking, or exploring the world.  I live in Atlanta, Georgia.

That Mama Is a Grouch, was honored as a finalist in the Parenting/Family category of the 2010 USA Book News Awards, a finalist in the Parenting category of the 2011 International Book Awards, a silver recipient in the 2014 Moms Choice Awards, and first place winner in the 2015 Purple Dragonfly Book Awards.
. Ten Zany Birds received an honorable mention in the 2016 Purple Dragonfly Book Awards.
. Don't Feed the Elephant was a finalist in the 2018 Best Book Awards and received an Honorable Mention in the 2018 Purple Dragonfly Book Awards.
.Bubba and Squirt's Big Dig to China received first place in 2019 Pinnacle Book Awards and was awarded the silver medal in the Readers Favorite book awards.
