Information
Ever since I was a child I wanted to become a writer, a published author, but life got in the way and it wasn't until I retired that I began my chosen career. I've published nine novels and one humorous memoir. THree of my novels won literary awards - Echoes won a Florida Writers Association award in 2004 and Secrets won a National League of American Pen Women award in 2005 and in 2008 my novel A Grandma for Christmas walked away with the first place award in the Royal Palm Literary Awards competition. Currently I'm working on the next novel and have the one following that in outline.
I'm also a professional public speaker, addressing women's clubs, groups and colleges. I speak on topics such as courageous women and the importance of family history, dysfunctional families, domestic violence and writing as a career. A new phase has been added to my writing career. I've been asked to teach creative writing basics at a local college and I'm giving workshops on how to write a memoir at libraries and other entities. Several of my students at the community college asked if we couldn't go on after the course ended. This request produced a writer's critique group which meets once a week at a local library.
I speak and write from the heart, basing my novels and speeches on true life experience.

NEWS! A Grandma for Christmas was just awarded first place in the 2008 Royal Palm Literary Awards sponsored by the Florida Writers Association. If you haven't read it you should. Autographed copies are available from the author.
NEWS! Just published my 9th novel, Second chances. Second Chances is the long-awaited sequel to Echoes, recipient of a 2004 Florida Writers Association literary award. Second Chances followed the popular A Grandma for Christmas and Never Look Back -- both novels published in 2007!
My novel, Secrets won a 2005 literary award from The National League of American Pen Women.
Past president of the Vero Beach Branch of the National League of American Pen Women I also
teach creative writing with emphasis on basic skills and preserving family history in memoirs.
Recently was featured speaker at a woman's networking organization.
