I was educated at Rochester Grammar School and Durham University where I took a  degree in history. I'm a qualified teacher and spent twelve happy years teaching children with severe learning difficulties before leaving to have my children - two fine daughters, now grown up. I've been writing more or less since I learned how, and reading as voraciously now as I ever have. Until a dozen years ago I didn't have a clear focus, but now I think I have found it. Since I wrote the first volume of my trilogy of British contemporary Christian fiction ('Leviathan with a Fish-hook', published in 2009) much has changed in this genre and in publishing generally. Volume 2 'The Monster Behemoth' followed in 2010, and volume 3 'The Land of Nimrod' in 2011. All are available from Amazon and other internet outlets, and can be downloaded to Kindle. I have just finished a second draft of a fourth novel, this time a stand-alone story, called 'Lost Sheep.' I'm not sure yet what will become of it: watch this space! Well, the book got finished, and the title got changed. 'A Shed in a Cucumber Field' was published in October 2014. And now there's another: An Iron Yoke, published in January 2016
