I've loved books since the age of 7. As an undergrad majoring in English/American Lit, I launched a professional editing business called PAPER MAKEOVER, helping ESL students to improve their grades. After an internship at Farrar, Straus & Giroux, my path led to advertising media, global brand/business development, and integrated marketing for increased sales in various industries. I came home to book publishing in 2008 as Director of Marketing & Sales for KIRKUS. In that position I worked with clients such as Random House, Penguin, Hachette, MacMillan, Chronicle, Bethany House, Disney Hyperion and many others on advertising campaigns and special media projects to promote new titles. I also managed customer service for countless indie authors; counseling and helping them to navigate the ever-changing book marketing process. I left Kirkus in Sept 2010 to launch Author Connections, LLC, a company with a mission to educate, encourage, and empower authors. We are devoted to excellence in editing and marketing, so that authors have books they are proud to sell. In my personal life I am happily married, and passionate about travel, gardening, gourmet cooking, and nature/scenic photography. My own book, TRAVELS OF AN INDEPENDENT WOMAN, is launching Spring 2015. Write on. My best to all. BKW
