Diane loves pets. She petsits, trains dogs, writes about birds, empties cat litter pans for a living.... Her books are full or her passion and the beauty of our companion animals. She acquired a female cockatiel, Dacey, in 1982 and life was never the same since! She wrote a column for the American Cockatiel Society for 6 years, and since 1995 has written a column for BIRD TALK magazine. Finally giving in, and doing what she love, Diane now pet sits for a living. She's filled several haiku books with photos and observations of our companion animals: Dogku, Catku, Petku, RESKU, Horseku and Birdku. Diane studied art in high school and majored in art in college. After a 25 year hiatus, she's taken up drawing and painting again. Her artistic eye influences the photos she takes and shares in her books, as well as the book layout and striking covers. She's enrolled in an animal drawing and painting class at Carmel Adult School, which takes field trips to stables, barnyards and local animal collections. What's next? Who knows?
