I am a 1990 graduate of Allegheny College in Meadville, PA. I majored in English, and wrote my first novel for my senior project. After graduation, I put the novel, Hawkmoon, and my writing aside for several years and moved to Leadville, Colorado, where I nurtured my earthy side working for the U.S. Forest Service. In 1997 I moved back to PA, and somewhere around that time began work on my second novel, Grace. Ten years later, I finished it and started farming it out to agents and publishers with no success. Just for the hell of it, I dusted off Hawkmoon and reworked it, and the very first publisher I sent it to--Loon In Balloon, Inc--bought it! Two months later, they sold the film rights.  Loon In Balloon, Inc. subsequently purchased Grace, but never released it. So, I decided to go the Indie route and published Grace and its follow up, Blood Truth via Create Space. Two years ago, I finished my fourth novel: Rabid Philanderers, Inc. It was purchased by Sunbury Press and was released January 2016.  My influences have been Larry McMurtry, Cormac MacCarthy, Stephen King, and Karen Fisher.

Grace won first prize in the Historical Fiction category at the Pikes Peak Writers conference. In 2010, Hawkmoon was named a finalist for the Colorado Humanities Book Award.
