I am from a generation of Preachers & Teachers - my dad was a Pastor for over 40 years before he passed.  My ministry background includes evangelism, teaching, and playwriting.  Writing is one of my many passions.   I got tired of hearing all the negativity in the media...another foreclosures, job loss, business closing... and it caught my attention.  I know from experience that if you keep rehearsing negative things then eventually negative is all that will be produced.  You see we are a "voice-activated" people.  If we speak it..it will be.   As I prayed about this-of course I went to God, the only true source I know that is never caught up in the changes of time but it always consistent and sure - and I got the idea to send emails to all my buddies to encourage them.  I called it Words of Encouragements. I did it for over a year and I watched as God used it to bring so many people to a place of peace and contentment in Him.
