As a child, while most little girls were playing with their Barbie dolls, Debra Phillips could be found sitting somewhere with a pen and pad to write down her short poems.  From there, her love for writing down words spread to the writing of  songs that she would practice, hoping to one day be part of a glamorous singing trio much like the SUPREMES.  Writing songs lead to the writing of  short stories that she would recite to her two best friends at the time, and short stories lead to writing her first novel. The rest is history. Debra Phillips knew she had the writing bug when her first short story was accepted by JIVE magazine. She was paid all of seventy-five dollars, but to Debra, it was like a million bucks!  Debra Phillips also writes under the alter ego, D.Y.
