Years ago, my highschool teacher in Junior year told me I was a natural-born writer.  I took her seriously and followed that up by taking a B.A. in English Degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1981.   I'm a regular contributing writer to Arts Across Kentucky www.artsacrossky.com and have been writing for various newspapers over the years including The Post and The Sunday Challenger.  In 2008, Acclaim Press published my debut novel, Pink Dice www.pinkdicenovel.com , a fictional novel inspired by my youth in the fifties.  The story has all the hallmarks of the fun and colorful fifties that was our first decade of rock-n-roll.  And it has been called a coming-of-age piece but that understates its insightful look into the underbelly of the fifties and a grander theme of man's inhumanity to man.  The publisher decided to give the cover a feminine look but those men who have seen past the cover have told me it was not  so much a chic lit as a fun and provocative read.  It has enjoyed above average sales for which I'm grateful.  Am currently working on another book which will explore the 60s and 70s.  Having lived through the Cuban Missile Crisis, Viet Nam War, the murder of three of our greatest American leaders, our country's involvement in the near and middle east  in order to keep the oil industry alive and our economy based on its multi-billion dollar successes, I lean toward the themes of greed and man's inhumanity to man.  My writing has been described as lyrical, colorful, provocative, non-formula (high praise),  infinitely descriptive and often profound.
