I have always loved reading and writing, and from the time I found out that someone actually wrote the stories I read, I wanted to write stories of my own. I wrote many things in a special book that only I read. When my sons were born, and I was helping to run our home based business, I didn’t have time for any writing. Then my niece convinced me to become a marriage celebrant, (something I have always wanted to do) I found myself writing many scenarios and scripts. After I had completed the course, I found I missed writing, a lot. I also realized that I was capable of writing something that others enjoyed reading. While I was having trouble sleeping, I was spending a lot of time at night doing puzzles or reading, when my husband suggested I do something useful while I was awake. While he meant pay bills and make up customer accounts, I decided to do something with the story that had been going around in my head for years. I just had to find an annoying beginning for it.  It had to be annoying to show how exasperated Claire was with Steve. One night while I was lying awake, the first line popped into my head. I got up and wrote it down, and the next thing I knew I had written two chapters.   I always have a book on the go, even taking my own book to appointments so I don’t have to read 3 year old magazines. While I was writing my story, I found it difficult to read other books at times, so I was sitting in waiting rooms, thinking about the next stage of my book, hoping that I would remember it when I got home. Sometimes I would call my home phone and leave a message to make sure I didn’t forget it. At first I only intended close family and friends to read it, then my niece read it and gave it to a couple of fiends. She eventually convinced me to try to get it published. I just hope that people who read this story enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed reading other authors works all my life.   Thank you Ann, not only do you make my world richer, you have helped me to achieve two life long dreams.
