Though born in California, and living in France as a child, my formative years were spent on Florida's Gulf Coast. After college at the Univ of Florida, I married, had two children - one deaf, started teaching, helped run two businesses and after 30 years, got divorced.  What a turn my life took! I now own two homes, one in Sarasota, FL and one in Costa Rica. I forgot my French, but learned Spanish. Living alone after so long took many adjustments, but it made me a self sufficient, adventuresome, and content individual.  After many years working and bringing up a family I have finally become a writer and am so pleased to finally publish my first book, Free to Bloom, a series of short stories about life in Costa Rica. I hope it will be one of many. My next project is auto-biographical: the trials, tribulations, joys and sorrows of living with and educating a deaf child who after the fact designed and now runs a successful website www.gatorcountry.com, one of the top U. of Florida Gator football websites. Since retiring from teaching and in between writing projects, I spend lots of time volunteering with many organizations: Water for People, El Porvenir, WSLR, an NPR radio station, Sarasota Literacy Council, and teaching ESL in Costa Rica.
