I began my career as a public relations professional in 1990 and in 2007 decided to go freelance. I started providing freelance writing services, corporate communications training, writing workshops/retreats and social media strategy. I had moved to Dubai in 2007, which was what triggered my career transition. I was inspired by friends and colleagues at the same time to share my experiences with others and wrote my first book, @Home in Dubai...Getting Connected Online and on the Ground. Shortly after I published my first novel, Mental Pause, which won an Independent Publisher Book Award. My second novel, Deep Deceit, launched on Interntional Women's Day in 2015, has triggered a new series that I will be working on called the Susan Morris Expat Mysteries. I have also published a self-help eBook on Amazon called 10 Steps to a Successful PR Campaign - A Do-It-Yourself Guide for Authors. I have more recently begun focusing on book editing & development and author mentoring (while continuing to write, of course!). I have travelled all over the world and lived as an expat from 1993 to 2016 and recently started my company, OC Publishing, upon my return to my hometown of Halifax, NS.
