Tonya Scott Burke has lived her entire life in the valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Born in Lynchburg, she graduated from Rustburg High School. With a strong desire for education she attended Mary Washington College and received a Bachelors’ of Art degree in American Studies. Earning her teaching credentials and a Masters in Education focusing on Curriculum and Instruction from Lynchburg College, Mrs. Burke, as she is known by her students, has taught elementary school for 18 years. She is a wife, mother of three beautiful children, and currently resides in Concord, Virginia.
