After losing her only child to suicide in 2005, Carolyn researched all the topics that came between her and her son's death. These include depression, mental illnesses, methamphetamine, addiction, and suicide. At the conclusion of the first year, she had amassed enough material for a whole. Intertwined in the book are illustrations and poetry done by her son. The book is intended to be a resource book for parents, teachers - anyone who has a teen in their lives.

The group was established in 2007 and ebbs and flows as people find they need the comfort of others who truly understand their loss via suicide.
