In addition to professional articles and texts on fetal and adult anatomy, Hawk has authored several novels. Moccasin Trace, a historical novel, was nominated for the prestigious Michael Shaara Award for Excellence in Civil War Fiction and the Writers Notes Book Award.
As part of an eight-book contract, the first two books in his Craige Ingram Mystery Series--Vault of Secrets and Nymro∆ Resurrection--received national attention when they were released by Wandering Sage Publishing Group in 2009 and 2010.
