I grew up on a healthy diet of comic books and horror films. My first big screen horror film was the Exorsist - when I was thirteen. My uncle took me. While the adults were freaked I was in awe of how they did all the cool effects. I went on to study classical animation thinking I could combine my two loves but that didn't quite go as planned. In my late teens I didn't have the discipline required to draw a movie frame by frame. Then I met a wise woman who later became my wife. She suggested I try make-up. I didn't warm up to the idea at first but when she explained I could make monsters I was in. So together we took a theatrical make-up course and the more bizarre the make-up the more natural it came and I was hooked. I found every book I could for there were few schools in the 80's that catered to film and as they say the rest is history. A twenty-nine year history working as a professional make-up artist. I always loved reading and writing John Sanford is one of my favourite authors. I write shorts, movie scripts, and published my first novel Blood Promise. The differences between them all keeps it fresh and exciting. Thirty-two years together and my wife suggests I write a how to make-up book as I was complaining about how new artists were unable to do basic casualty make-up. So our first book 'Hurt 'Em Reel Good' was born and from that a second 'Reel Characters' then the third 'Reel Tips & Tricks'. I wanted to educate make-up artist, directors and producers on want could be accomplished with little time and money. I do not believe in "I can't" . I'm more a "How about this", or "Let's try that" kind of person. Anything can be accomplished with some imagination and hard work and I am living proof as I strive to new hieghts each and everyday. It was at my father's prompting I  got around to finishing my novel. He has terminal bone cancer and has been holding his own for the past six years. An avid reader I gave him an old draft to peruse and he kept reminding me to do something with it. SoBLOOD PROMISE  an adult Vampire story was set free. Thanks to him I am already working on a follow up Blood Rules.
