Creativity A thought, a notion, an idea and a feeling; these are brought on by emotions that make artistry a beautiful gift.  Anyone can draw, paint, and write; but to do it with emotion from the soul; that is the wonder of it all.  An architect uses a compass, a mechanic a wrench; but an artist expresses through their soul.    One sees things, hears things and experiences life as it hits them full in the face; without warning, sometimes well and sometimes filled with sorrow.  You experience this wretchedness; sometimes joyful filled life with eyes wide open; absorbing it as if turned to a sponge; soaking it in and drowning in it as if trying to wade through the angry oceans of the world.    Outlets for these experiences are far and wide reaching into the abyss as far as the eye can see; some choose to face great peril while some chose to inflict self loathing and pain unto themselves; trying to mask the sorrows and pain they have endured.  The ones who experience joy; it’s easy for them; they flourish in life with families and children and fulfilling adventures “always looking on the bright side”; never having experienced loss, heartache, the unwanted touch of a supposed loved one; the terrible pain and injury brought on by a drunken stepfather or the abandonment of their parents; left to wander streets alone.  It’s the inflicted that are wrought with damaged emotions; wandering through life with no direction or salvation.    It is by this that few find solace in the act of creating something of beauty out of ugliness; channeling those inflicted emotions, twisting them, molding them, shaping them until light shines through the darkness; clearing a road through a mindful past once filled with emotional debris, convoluted emotions and sometimes odious notions; forging ahead the soul through times gone by filled with strife, pain and sorrow; to a place un-riddled with baggage and sadness.  It is in this place they wield their minds as swords; hacking away at the past and piecing together a future; thus finding a home for a broken heart.        M.S

Come and celebrate his creativity as he débuts in his first exhibit. Celebrate the beginning of a potentially flourishing career as an artist, one whose creativity comes from the soul.
Opening reception on February 12th 2011, the second Saturday art walk 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Closing reception is February 26th, last Saturday Metro night out 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
