I arrive at the blank page with 50 years of socialist, anarchist and environmental experience and activism. I write to inspire, goad and defend my fellow travelers, and to annoy, frustrate and confuse those who take the road most traveled. Environmentalism, anarchism and socialism have long been reviled by the ruling elite. I write fiction to bring the message of these world views in a form more palatable to sensitive minds, to reveal the truth lying behind the lies. I write political and environmental essays to lay bare the bones of the dying regime and to beat back the tide of economic hegemony laying waster to the non-human world.  After twenty years of experience living within non-Western cultures, I have learned the wisdom of a simple, contemplative life and the necessity of solitude. My economic needs are minuscule, so I am free to write without concern for pecuniary recompense.  I cast my words to the wind to be free.
