Franklin Macias was born into a family of six brothers and two sisters on August 4th, 1991. Raised around gangbangers and drug dealers, at a young age the author knew he lived a very different life than the majority of his friends. With his mother and father always going in and out of jail, he struggled for a positive parental figure to follow. At age seven, Franklin was placed in a foster home. He spent the next twelve years of his life in and out of foster homes and a motley of different placements. At age fourteen, he dropped out of school and began living the somewhat similar lifestyle to that of his parents. At age seventeen, he was placed in an emancipation home for young adults, where he attended school regularly and graduated at age eighteen. Despite all his flaws and disappointments, he allowed himself to drown all of his love, hate and brokenhearted emotions into beautiful words that touch the hearts of many.
