"My mom once told me that I carried a notebook instead of a blanket when I was young. She said I started out scribbling in it, until I learned how to write. Then she said I would sit and write in that notebook for hours. She used to tell me that I was a great storyteller. Now I wish my mom was still here to read my book. She was killed by drunk drivers on April 14th 1989, and I sure do miss her!"

She has been in the media and newspapers throughout Michigan for poetry she has written. The author has won the following certificates for her excellence in writing: The Editor’s Choice Award, Poet of Merit Award, Vietnam Veterans of America awarded her the Certification of Appreciation Award, and she has won the International Poet of Merit Award.
