Information
Since childhood, Sarah Lipton Sidibeh had a great love of literature and writing. She started writing when she was seventeen; she began by writing a number of poems. She wrote many of her short stories when she was twenty-two. In the 1980s, when she did this writing, some of her poetry was published in magazines and by 2006 in eighteen poetry anthologies. Some of her short stories were broadcast on LBC RADIO. Sarah wrote her children's book, THE SPELL, in the 1990s and her play, REVENGE, in 2006.
Owing to the fact that Sarah had a period working as a tutor of English Language and Literature, she has written educational textbooks regarding the novels, BELOVED and LORD OF THE FLIES. Also, she has written a critique of THE GLASS MENAGERIE.
Sarah especially likes Victorian and African-American literature. Also, she likes the Gothic novel.
Sarah has been greatly influenced by the writings of Angela Carter which contain elements of magic realism and myth; Sarah too has incorporated these elements in her short stories and children's book.
Some of Sarah's poetry is based on her personal experiences. Her nature poems express her love of the rural environment. Her "decade" poems portray a strong historical insight.
Sarah's play, REVENGE, depicts a pernicious England that lacks opportunities and advancement for people from some ethnic minorities although they have an education which should enable them to become socially mobile. Gradually, the protagonist becomes criminalized owing to her poverty which was precipitated by the barrier to advancement.
Sarah's novel, 14 BENSHAM GROVE, is based on her childhood experiences living at 165 Trinity Road in Tooting, south-west London in the early to mid-1970s.

Sarah was accepted as a Fellow of THE ROYAL SOCIETY OF ARTS owing to artistic ability.
Some of her short stories and poetry had been broadcast on: LBC RADIO, RESONANCE FM and OMEGA RADIO.
Sarah's poem, STAGNATION, was shortlisted in THE NATIONAL POETRY ANTHOLOGY COMPETITION in 2005. Her poem, WISHFUL THINKING, was printed by the charity, POEMS IN THE WAITING ROOM, on one of its cards; these cards are distributed to thousands of doctors' surgeries throughout Britain. Sarah was awarded numerous certificates for her poetry at THE RICHMOND MUSIC FESTIVAL in the 1990s. Also, THE POETRY SOCIETY awarded Sarah an accolade for a number of her poems.
