I'm a used/rare bookseller by trade and a writer by habit. I've been writing since . . . well, since I was able to write. I love animals, music, books, and good stories written or told orally. I live in an old schoolhouse stuffed with books and cats, my husband and our dog, Weegee. Shelve Under C: A Tale of Used Books and cats is a novel for all ages. It is partially based on our experiences in our Ohio used bookshop, where we fostered cats that the local humane society brought us to try to get new homes for over time. In the years that we were fostering them, we got over 50 cats adopted through our store. I wanted to write a book that would promote the idea to other businesses. It relieved some of the burden on our shelter and meant that it was easier for them to remain a no-kill facility. Other businesses in town also fostered -- not only cats, but dogs and rabbits.
